TRINITY PHARMACY COMPOUNDED GLP-1 PRESS RELEASE
4/1/2026
Dear Trinity Pharmacy Patients and Providers,
Unfortunately, the West Virginia Board of Pharmacy has halted our production of GLP-1 and related weight loss products effective immediately. The reason given is that we have not conducted extraordinarily expensive stability studies proving the potency and effectiveness of our compounded products.
As a long-standing healthcare provider founded in West Virginia over 35 years ago, we take great pride in the quality of patient care and the compounded products we provide. This ruling was not due to the quality of products or facilities, but simply a regulatory issue. We are committed to our patients and stand by the integrity of our products.
We are fully aware of how this will affect your treatment and weight loss goals. We were the only provider in West Virginia providing this service; therefore, you will be forced to use an out-of-state provider to continue therapy.
We apologize for the inconvenience and short notice. The WV Board of Pharmacy only informed us of this decision at the close of business 3/31/2026. We asked for a period of time to address this issue but were denied this request. We are bound by law to abide by the Board of Pharmacy Ruling, as they are our governing body.
We wish you all the best in achieving your health care goals. Please know that we are working diligently to resolve this matter. If, in the future, we are allowed to compound your GLP-1’s, we will notify your providers promptly.
Sincerely,
Matthew Wade, CEO

PATIENT AND PROVIDER GLP-1 QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Q: Why did this happen?
A: The West Virginia Board of Pharmacy ruled that since we did not have stability studies, which are extraordinarily expensive, we could no longer provide this line of therapy until those are conducted. This will take some time, but we are actively working on this.
Q: What is stability?
A: Stability is defined as: The period of time where product integrity and reliability does not decline to a lower quality, condition or level.
Q: Was the quality of your product the issue?
A: No. This is simply a technical regulatory issue. It is a fact that we cannot provide the documentation from a study to justify product integrity/reliability. Our process and facilities pass rigorous certification and inspection requirements, and we are a nationally accredited compounding pharmacy that is held to higher standards. We stand firmly in terms of the quality and integrity of the products we produce.
Q: What is the pharmacy going to do? What is your plan?
A: We plan on exhausting all measures to rectify the issue, but this will not be an expedient process. This will take time. Please know that we are working diligently on this matter to be able to provide these products once again.
Q: What do I do now as a patient?
A: We were the only compounding pharmacy in the State of West Virginia that provided this line of therapy. Unfortunately, you will have to find an out-of-state pharmacy that provides a similar product, but it may not be the exact formulation that we have provided you, as our formulation is proprietary. Furthermore, we cannot vouch for any products made outside our pharmacy. Contact your provider for further direction. We are notifying providers about this issue as well. Please understand that your provider trusted us in your referral and may not feel comfortable referring you to an unknown pharmacy.
Q: Can you transfer my prescription elsewhere?
A: We can transfer oral medications and the like, but this is a compounded medication, and our formulation is proprietary and we cannot share.
Q: Why didn’t you give me more notice?
A: The WV Board of Pharmacy advised us on 3/31/2026 at 4:30 PM to stop making the GLP-1 products. This was sudden, unexpected, and out of our control. Please know that we are doing everything possible to notify all affected patients and providers as soon as possible.
Q: Will I still be able to get my other medications?
A: Absolutely! Only the GLP-1 medications have been affected.
Q: What if I have already paid for my medication, but it wasn’t allowed to be shipped?
A: Any medications that were not shipped will be processed for a refund. Please allow 14 days to receive your refund. (April 15,2026)
Q: What if I don’t see my refund credited to my bank?
A: If past April 15th, please verify the bank account used. Utilize our Rx local app or pharmacy text message system to advise us of the non-credit of your refund. This will take us 2 days to identify credit card refunds or any issues. We will then correspond with you on your original form of communication.
Q: What if I have other more specific questions or issues?
A: Utilize our Rx local app or pharmacy text message system to communicate with our pharmacy during this time. We will be inundated with communicating and contacting all patients affected by this issue. Thank you for understanding.
